Energy Management and Carbon Emissions
At Eczacıbaşı Group, we understand that our operations have a significant impact on the environment, particularly in terms of energy consumption and carbon emissions. As a company that operates in energy-intensive industries, we take proactive measures to reduce our environmental impact by implementing energy efficiency projects, exploring process improvement opportunities, and transitioning to alternative energy sources.

Renewable Energy
At Eczacıbaşı Group, we are committed to staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and opportunities in the energy sector. As part of this commitment, we regularly conduct feasibility studies to explore the potential of meeting our electricity needs through renewable sources.
Since 2022, we have sourced 100% of the electricity consumed in our operations in Türkiye from renewable energy sources. At the end of 2030, our ambition is to provide 100% of electricity consumption of energy-intensive Group Companies VitrA Tiles and Eczacıbaşı Building Products; and 50% of electricity consumption of Esan and Sanipak from self-produced renewable energy.
Water Management
Water is a vital input in the production processes of all Eczacıbaşı Group companies. As part of our commitment to responsible production, we have implemented a range of measures to protect and preserve water sources, while also promoting sustainable resource management.
Our efforts in this area are focused on reducing water use, ensuring efficient use, and increasing wastewater recovery. We carefully consider environmental and social needs during water withdrawal, and regularly perform assessments to manage water-related risks.
Waste Management
As a prominent global industrial group, Eczacıbaşı recognizes its pivotal role in mitigating operational waste and promoting the adoption of a circular economy model. Our organization is committed to adopting a “zero waste” approach in all our waste management practices, placing significant emphasis on preventing waste at its source.
At every stage of production, from design to the end of our products’ economic life, we are dedicated to closely monitoring the environmental impact of our operations. We have implemented comprehensive processes and procedures to ensure that waste is reduced, separated, recovered, and, wherever feasible, treated as a valuable resource.
