SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

TURKISH INFORMATICS FOUNDATION

With Faruk Eczacıbaşı as President, the Foundation is working towards the development of the legal, technical and physical infrastructure required for Turkey’s full transition to an information-based society.

Co-founded by Eczacıbaşı Group, the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) operates as a multi-stakeholder civil society organization dedicated to advancing Turkey’s technology-driven development and transformation with the vision of “technology for good.” TBV conducts scientific research, examines the social and economic impacts of emerging technologies, develops projects through strategic collaborations, and brings them to life.

In addition to its wide range of national and international initiatives, TBV has successfully completed six major EU projects over the past decade. With the most recent project, TBV has been designated as a National Certification Center for key professions within the IT sector.

Founded in April 1995 by 114 institutions and 178 individual members, TBV has grown to over 400 members today. By bringing together leading organizations in Turkey around technology-focused initiatives, TBV fosters a dynamic network that connects thousands of young people with like-minded peers in emerging technology fields while contributing to the continuous development of educators. Through initiatives such as Blockchain Turkey, AITR, Be Node, and Digital Turkey platforms, TBV promotes technology and innovation, encourages the responsible advancement of digital transformation within institutions and society, and raises awareness about new life models shaped by technology. Additionally, through Founder One—Turkey’s first impact investment fund—TBV supports next-generation startups, further strengthening the technology ecosystem.

Over the past two years, TBV has backed more than 30 startups with an investment portfolio of approximately $4 million through Founder One, while also encouraging female entrepreneurship. With the support of strong stakeholders and partners, TBV has provided artificial intelligence training to 600 university students and, in collaboration with the Salih Karagöz Foundation, has connected dozens of students with scholarship programs.

With its multi-stakeholder model, TBV continues to play a pioneering role in technology and innovation, shaping the future and driving transformative change.
