The Eczacıbaşı Group is desolated by the ongoing wildfires in Turkey and is closely monitoring the situation to see how it can provide support.

First, we provided personal protective equipment and firefighting equipment to AKUT, Turkey's leading search and rescue NGO taking part in front-line efforts to extinguish the fires. We donated seedlings – one for each Group employee – to TEMA, Turkey's leading environmental NGO, to help restore both hope and our forests. And we delivered a trailer truckload of Eczacıbaşı Consumer Products' hygiene products to people affected by the wildfires.

Now, we are contributing to a private sector effort coordinated by the World Wildlife Fund with the permission of Turkey's Forestry Ministry and in cooperation with the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality to send a firefighting helicopter to the wildfire zone to take part in containment efforts. Eczacıbaşı Volunteers have started a campaign to collect donations both from individuals and companies for the Animal Rights Foundation HAYTAP, which is working in the disaster zone to save and treat animals affected by the wildfires.

We will continue to maintain constant communication with public institutions and NGOs in order to respond to immediate needs. We also plan to take part in long-term support efforts after the fires are extinguished through the activities of our volunteers and companies.

We send our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones and our wholehearted wishes for a speedy recovery to those who have suffered injuries. We believe that together we can overcome these difficult days and hope that the wildfires will be extinguished as soon as possible so that the healing process for our communities and environment can begin.
